Counseling & EMDR
The focus of counseling is to work with you, supporting you in your process of change. Counseling offers you the chance to have the guidance of a trained professional during times of stretching and hardships while you effect positive change in your life. Through the counseling process, individuals and couples are able to explore their personal and family history and examine the relationship between that history and their current life. Counseling also offers an opportunity to practice different and positive ways of relating to yourself and to others.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a non-invasive therapeutic technique which is useful in resolving sudden, recent trauma as well as long term effects of past trauma. It is usually short term (up to 10 sessions) and can be extremely helpful for the psychological effects of motor vehicle accidents, physical injury, emotional injury, and other types of trauma, including phobias.
